What a joy it was to be able to perform our full Christmas concert on Saturday 10 December in the Lyle Kirk, our first since before lockdown!

Ably led by Andrew McTaggart and accompanied on the organ by the talented Andrew Forbes, the choir sang a wide variety of items, from Finzi’s In Terra Pax and Pergolesi’s Magnificat to well-known carols and songs.

Favourites included Rutter’s Jesus Child, Darkes’ In the Bleak Midwinter and Willcocks’ Jingle Bells, and the concert finished with the fun of In the Christmas Spirit. The audience were in good voice and joined the choir in traditional favourites such as Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Joy to the world and O Little Town of Bethlehem.

We were delighted to welcome our guests for the evening, Caitlin Mackenzie who gave a beautiful rendition of The Christmas Song, and The Riverside Youth Band who entertained us with delightful selections of seasonal music under their director Mark Good.

The evening ended with refreshments and an opportunity to catch up with friends and acquaintances and to share their feedback on the concert - which was extremely positive and complimentary.
