SPRING CONCERT 2025

Greenock Philharmonic Choir goes from strength to strength at Lyle Kirk Greenock

On Saturday 29th March the renowned Greenock Philharmonic Choir provided a packed audience with a glorious performance of Brahms’s ‘A German Requiem’.

They were wonderfully supported by the Glasgow Chamber Orchestra, the exceptional Christopher Nickol, organist, and top soloists soprano Jessica Leary and bass-baritone Timothy Edmundson. Also taking part were students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and members of Bearsden Choir.

Praise for their Musical Director, Nick Wilks, who skilfully applied his deep understanding of the Brahms Requiem to guide the choir through its demanding seven movements. The choir and orchestra came together last Saturday night to deliver a sensitive and engaging performance, bringing well deserved praise from the audience.

Remarkably when Nick brought the performance to its conclusion there was a prolonged and moving silence, a tribute to the power of what the choir, orchestra and soloists had just delivered.

On 23rd August the choir is having an Open Day singing Vivaldi’s fresh and exciting Gloria. Any singers, or potential singers are welcome to join them. Click here to contact us.
