COME AND SING 'ELIJAH'

We had 50 singers on the day, and we were very pleased to welcome singers from a number of other choirs as well as other visitors.

We rehearsed form 10.30am until 4pm, and the 5pm performance was open to the public. We were pleasantly surprised to have an audience of about 35.

The music was not easy to master in a day, so we didn’t achieve perfection, but we did our best, and the singing of Ross Cummings as well as the playing of Andrew Forbes were wonderful to hear.

The whole day was a most enjoyable experience and we learned a lot from Andy’s leading of us.

We plan to perform ‘Elijah’ at our March 2023 Spring Concert - look out for details in the future.

The choir recently held a Come and Sing event in Clark Memorial Church, Largs.

We rehearsed and then performed a shortened version of Mendelssohn’s oratorio ‘Elijah’ in a day.

The conductor was Andrew McTaggart, accompanist was Andrew Brown, and the bass soloist was Ross Cummings who sang the part of Elijah.
